Mikkel joined Nordisk Film in 2011 as Commercial Director, launching Nordisk Games in 2016 as a means to expand into the games industry. Mikkel has a long track record in management, business development and strategy, forming his very first game company after graduating from university. Mikkel previously held director-level roles at several international internet companies and currently sits on the board of several game studios including Avalanche, Star Stable, Reto Moto and Nitro Games.
With more than 20 years as an entrepreneur and an executive within the games industry, Martin brings an incredible depth and breadth of knowledge to Nordisk Games where he joined as a Senior Partner in 2016. Martin’s first role in the games industry was the creation of Swedish development studio Massive Entertainment in 1997. Since then Martin has been a tireless executive, entrepreneur and investor, with a number of broad-level and advisory roles in a range of start-ups and non-profit organisations.
With a decade within the games industry and a background within the arts and digital creative industry, Sofie brings a strategic perspective to the Nordisk Games team, where she focuses on creating value-add to the studios through innovation and development, entrepreneurship, business development and management execution in her role as director of partnerships. Sofie joined Nordisk Games in 2018; prior to that, Sofie was MD of Interactive Denmark, a business focused non-profit organization.
Markus’ career in the games industry spans more than 20 years, in which time he has held executive positions in publishing, licensing and operations. Markus joined Nordisk Games at the start of 2021 as Partner & Director of Operations. Markus began his career at Atari, and after 12 years there Markus became COO of independent German publishing house dtp entertainment, leaving this role to become VP of Web Games, and shortly after COO at online game publisher Gameforge.
Jens has 10+ years of experience with M&A and finance from consultancy and the industry/private funds in various sectors. Prior to Nordisk Games, Jens has used the last several years within the Egmont Group focusing on tech companies within e-commerce and digital marketing but since 2017 entirely focusing on Games. His key areas of expertise are M&A, Business cases, Valuation and finance.
With a start in April 2021, Susanne is a recent addition to Nordisk Games. She joins the team with 10+ years of experience in coordinating events and projects. Prior to Nordisk Games, Susanne worked as part of the Event Team at the Danish Producers’ Association where she among other events coordinated Spilprisen (Danish Game Award). Among Susanne’s key areas at Nordisk Games is sustainability including the PlayCreateGreen initiative and she is also taking lead on the Diversity & Inclusion agenda.
Caroline is the student assistant working with both events and communication in Nordisk Games. Prior to this, she was working at the Danish Film Academy with the primary focus on planning and executing the annual Danish Film Award, Robert Prisen. Earlier on, Caroline was an intern at the Danish film festival, CPH PIX, where she was responsible for several events. Caroline holds a BSc in Business Administration and Project Management and is currently studying her MA in Communication Studies in Performance design and Business Studies.
Jonathan is the Lead User Researcher at Nordisk Games. Prior to this, Jonathan lived in Sweden for 3 years working at Paradox Interactive on several of the strategy games and other IPs. He also worked at 2K for a couple years and conducted user research on Civ VI, XCOM 2, Evolve, Mafia 3, and many other games. He got his start in the games industry working for Activision and conducted user research mainly on the Call of Duty franchise.
Hack is a lifelong gamer with an education from Roskilde University in business studies and performance design, with a focus on tech and human interaction. Prior to Nordisk Games, Hack worked for Loop UX where he was managing international UX research projects.
Ritesh grew up in Seattle and attended the University of Washington (Go Dawgs!) for a Masters in Human Centered Design & Engineering. Prior to Nordisk Games, he was at Trustpilot as a UX Researcher primarily focused on the business side of their platform. Before that, Ritesh worked at Microsoft for nearly 5 years on several different teams: ODSP (OneDrive + SharePoint), HoloLens, and Xbox.
Simone works as a User Researcher at the lab in Nordisk Games. At the lab she conducts playtests, focus groups, tests and evaluation of screen-based prototypes as well as interviews. Simone recently finished her master’s in Digital Design and Interactive Technologies at ITU, and before joining Nordisk Games she worked as a UX Researcher at Alka Forsikring.
Amit has been interested in video games his whole life where RPGs and MMOs have reserved a special place in his heart (along with generally anything including tons of loot!). In Nordisk Games, Amit works at the User Research Lab where he assists the team in screening, booking, and managing, participants for our many studies. Amit possesses a BA in philosophy and is currently finishing his MSc in techno-anthropology, where his main interest has been the ethics of science, technology, and design.
Mikkel's lifelong interest in video games made him pursue a master's in Medialogy, focusing on the development and evaluation of interactive multimedia applications. This journey led him to Nordisk Games, where he currently works as a User Research Moderator Intern and performs tasks related to the planning, execution, and documentation of stakeholder studies and lab maintenance.
