But. What is a playtester?

We want to help build the best games. In order to do that, we need YOU to become a playtester! Your feedback on our games portfolio – existing and new titles – will help us create the best experiences possible.

Each playtesting session is different, but they all serve one purpose: Inform us about your experience and help shape our games of the future.

Becoming a playtester is easy! Simply sign up below. Once you’re in, you'll receive emails from the Nordisk Games user research team about when we conduct playtest sessions, other research studies, and the details about how you can participate. Please be advised you are responsible for reporting the gift card to the relevant tax authorities.

I do not want to be a playtester anymore

In each of our emails we have a link for you to unsubscribe from our database automatically. Otherwise, you can write playtest@nordiskgames.com, but the processing time might be longer to manually unsubscribe. If you have already unsubscribed but still receive emails, please let us know by emailing us!

If you change your mind, you can always sign-up again in the future.

I have another question

For questions, comments, feedback, or anything else, please contact playtest@nordiskgames.com and we will get back to you as soon as possible!

What will I be participating in?

We research awide variety of video games from our studios in different stages of production –pre-production, alpha, beta, and live video games. The video games range from AAA, indie, to mobile.

The research studies could be playtests, market research surveys, focus groups, and more types of studies depending on the video game stage.

You do not have to be an expert in video games to participate. The video game research studies are meant to be engaging for everyone. You must play video games in general, that is it!

How does a playtest session go?

We accept participants from all over the world. Our playtest sessions could happen one of the following ways:

- Playtest conducted remotely (comfort of your own home).
- Playtest on-site in our lab in Copenhagen, Denmark.
- Diary study conducted in the comfort of your own home on your own time for several days.

Typically, we ask you to answer surveys and participate in interviews to receive feedback for the video game.

What type of emails will I receive after signing-up?

After completing the sign-up, we regularly send out additional surveys. These surveys are called “screeners”. The screener surveys help us find out if you are the specific gamer we are looking for the video game research study.

We also conduct raffles to help keep our database engaged. You might receive an email to complete a survey as a raffle entry to possibly win a gift card or video game swag.

Am I able to sign-up?

Everyone who is 16 years of age or older is eligible to sign-up. Even if you do not play video games much, we would still love to hear from you!

If you are 15 years of age or younger but want to participate, do not worry! Please have your guardian sign-up for you. Your guardian will be contacted when a video game research study will be conducted.

Where are the playtests done?

We conduct playtests globally either remotely (comfort of your own home) or a rented facility in a specific city. We also have our lab in Copenhagen, Denmark.

I filled out more surveys, but nothing happens

The best thing you can do is keep filling out the surveys we send. We have thousands and thousands of gamers in our database, and we would love to have you all participate eventually. Depending on the video game we are conducting research for determines which gamers we book for the studies. This is probably why you are not getting booked for video game research studies.

We are always looking for ways to keep all the gamers who signed-up to our database engaged and a chance to receive something for their feedback. We conduct raffles for those who complete certain surveys, and we are also going to conduct raffles for those fill out screeners but are not selected.
